Arrive in Barcelona, Spain’s second-largest city, for your self-guided journey. Go on a walking tour to see the city’s oldest neighborhoods before stopping by the Olympic park. Try making some paella with help from a professional chef, and the next day, check out Girona, a picturesque town where “Game of Thrones” was filmed.
1st Day: UK/Ireland - Barcelona
Ready to explore Barcelona on your self-guided adventure? Arrive at your UK/Ireland departure airport, ready for a flight* to Barcelona. Touch down in Barcelona, one of Spain’s most important cities known for its fast-paced atmosphere, modernist architecture and beautiful plazas and beaches. Transfer to the hotel for check-in and spend the rest of the day exploring at your own pace. Barcelona is a vibrant city known for its artistic heritage and the amazing architecture of Gaudi. Overnight stay in Barcelona.

2nd Day: Barcelona
In the morning, enjoy a walking tour through el Born and the Gothic Quarter. Visit places such as the Arc de Triomf and the Barcelona Cathedral. Walk through the narrow streets of the oldest part of the city and learn the secrets it hides. At the end of the walking tour, board an air-conditioned bus for a panoramic city tour of Barcelona.
Stop at the Olympic area for the 1992 Olympics in Montjuic, accessing the Montjuic Cable Car for stunning views of Barcelona. Pass by the Montjuic Castle and the MNAC viewpoint, with yet another perspective of Barcelona. On your way back, pass through Paseo de Gracia, one of the most important streets of Barcelona, and where two of the most important works of Antoni Gaudí are located: La Pedrera and Casa Batlló.
Complement your visit with a paella workshop at the end of the tour. Learn how to cook the most emblematic dish of Spanish gastronomy alongside a professional chef. Prepare your own paella, which you can enjoy with a glass of wine. Overnight stay in Barcelona.

3rd Day: Barcelona - Girona - Barcelona
Breakfast at the hotel. Head out on a drive to one of Catalonia's most picturesque towns, Girona. Upon arrival, follow your guide to the city center for a two-hour walking tour. Discover the old town and learn about some of the myths and legends associated with the city. See some of the locations where the hit series “Game of Thrones” filmed many scenes of its sixth season. Admire the exterior of its magnificent Cathedral, walk along part of the medieval city walls and marvel at the breathtaking views of the old town.
Take advantage of your free time and visit the Cathedral on your own (not included in the tour). Enjoy the local gastronomy and walk around the city at your leisure before meeting your guide to return to Barcelona. Overnight stay in Barcelona.

4th Day: Barcelona
Breakfast at the hotel. You’ll have the full day free in Barcelona, unless you’re interested in joining our optional wine tour* of some of the region’s top vineyards. For a different plan, you could ascend the Tibidabo hill and get spectacular views of the city, or take a quick train down to neighboring Sitges, a well-known beach town. Enjoy the day at your leisure and return to Barcelona for your overnight stay.
*Optional visit to Catalan wineries: Head to two of the most important wineries in Catalonia, where you’ll discover how wine is made, its history and enjoy a wine tasting. Start at Can Ràfols, one of the most unique and attractive wineries in Europe. Take notice how the winery has been built in a cave that is completely invisible from the outside! Learn how the winery has been designed across different levels to facilitate a gravity-led winemaking process. Enjoy a pairing of three wines with local cheese and sausages. Next, go to one of the most prestigious wineries in Catalonia: Llopart, a centuries-old vineyard where we will discover their signature Corpinnat sparkling wine, which has a protected denomination of origen. Finish with a tasting of some of their best wines, also paired with iberico ham and other preserved meats.
